You don't have to be a trained bunhead to enjoy dancing. Dancing is an aerobic activity, so it's good for your heart.
And it's also a mind-body workout, so while you're cha-cha-ing or chassé-ing across the floor, you're also improving your memory.
But, while some of us may be content having a dance party in our living rooms, some of us may be itching to learn about techniques from the pros.

I have been a student of Dance With Alana for over 12 years and I still enjoy every class. I have taken zumba, jazz, swing and tap classes there and loved all of them. Alana is a knowledgeable, kind, funny and understanding teacher who brings the joy of dance to every class she teaches. In every class she teaches the essential elements and basics to make everyone a successful dancer. She has great patience and a lot of heart which keeps students motivated and happy to learn. She has imparted this enthusiasm to her other instructors as well. Dance with Alana is the best dance school in Ottawa!
2. Ottawa Fred Astaire Dance Studio
My partner & I have really enjoyed learning to dance with Ottawa Fred Astaire Dance Studio! The instructors are professional and knowledgeable. No matter your skill level or motivation, they are supportive, open and fun. This year we switched from in-person to virtual lessons. I'm so glad we stuck with it! I am continually impressed with how effectively Thomas & Denise can teach over Zoom and adapt to our small space. It's been so nice to continue our lessons in the comfort of our home and I'm grateful for the time we spend together each week.
3. Rouge Studio of Dance
Amazing camaraderie! I am part of one of the burlesque's troupe and as soon that I've arrived I felt welcomed and loved already. Even during the pandemic, you could feel the love and the support from the owner Randi and the girls from the troupe. It just feels like a second family. It also helped me to gain confidence and feel sexy in a way that I never felt before. I totally recommand this studio of dance to anyone! 🙂
4. Moov Ottawa Dance
Moov Ottawa has been an integral part of my time in the city. Alea and Arnaldo are extremely knowledgeable, warm, and personable, and have made my experience in Ottawa more memorable because of it! Not all experts are great teachers, but Moov Ottawa is no doubt both. I have learned and grown immersely through their workshops, spectacles, and programs.
5. The Flava Factory
Absolutely fantastic experience, and such a great philosophy they have about dance, especially for kids! The kinder breaking program has given my son the confidence to not only perform as part of a group, but to also put moves together himself in a cypher setting. The instructors are passionate and the studio is welcoming, I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone!
6. Greta Leeming Studio of Dance
Been coming to the studio for years. They offer a wide variety of adult classes in a variety of skills and dance styles. A great atmosphere and amazing teachers! Feels like a giant family and very welcoming!

Since becoming a part of the FWD family, my daughter has made some incredible friends, has become a more confidant dancer and most importantly, a more confidant and happy teenage girl. Thanks Amanda & Rob for welcoming her into the FWD family! Howie
