While tattoos are not as edgy as they used to be—seems like everyone has a tat these days—they’re still primarily a mark of creativity, confidence, and cool.
You have to be confident to get permanently inked and know exactly what you want.
The best tattoo shops in Hamilton are home to true artists who will translate your ideas into a stunning work of art.
So think long and hard before getting one because you’re going to live with it for the rest of your life. While you’re at it, think about exactly where you’ll get your first tattoo in Hamilton.
How Much Does a Tattoo Cost in Hamilton?
Average tattoo prices in Hamilton range from $30 to $100 for sizes under 2x2, between $100 and $200 for a 3x3, and around $250 or more for a 4x4 tattoo.
Prices depend on where you live, the experience level of the artist, their hourly rates, and if it's a custom tattoo.
|Tiny Tattoo (Under 2 in)||$30 – $100|
|Small Tattoo (2 - 4 in)||$50 – $250|
|Medium Tattoo (4 - 6 in)||$150 – $450|
|Large Tattoo (6+ in)||$500 – $4,000|
|Artist & Experience||Hourly Rate|
|Beginner (1-3 yrs)||$80 – $120|
|Established Artist (5-10 yrs)||$120 – $180|
|Experienced Artist (10+ yrs)||$150 – $250|
|Famous Artist||$200 – $500|
Your tattoo cost is an investment in permanent body art that you'll wear every day. The last thing you want is a super-cheap tattoo that you might have to pay double the cost of removing if you don't like it later.
That's why the best tattoo artists work thoughtfully to create designs with long-lasting appeal.

I had my tattoo done by Alex in April. I gave him a reference picture and he put his own spin on it. I absolutely love it. I adore his line work and style. It’s been a few years so i was a bit nervous. He made it super comfortable. The music was great and the other artists were super friendly and chatty. He asked a couple times if i needed a break and was very professional. Highly recommend this place and Alex!

I had my first and second tattoos completed by Tyler Mansey at Grey Harbour Tattoo, and they were both wonderful experiences! Tyler was super friendly and accommodating. Both visits were 5 hr sessions and he made sure I was comfortable through the whole process. The studio is beautiful and bright and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Everyone here is incredibly talented, and I would absolutely recommend Grey Harbour to my friends. I will definitely be returning. 🙂 Thank you for such amazing work!

By far the best tattoo shop my hubby and I have been to. The artist makes you feel involved in the creative process and makes sure that your voice is reflected in the piece. The new shop is so much nicer than the last location too. I highly recommend booking an appointment in advance, he does take walk ins when possible, but at times we've had to book a week or two out. Whether its an hour or a week it's always well worth the wait.
