Experience the Best Japanese Cuisine in Burlington at These Top-Rated Restaurants

Choi’s Sushi

Most people think of sushi when they think of Japanese food, but there's plenty of grilling, simmering, steaming and frying going on in Japanese kitchens as well. Think teriyaki, sukiyaki, soy-marinated fish filets, yakitori, ramen, udon, and other distinctive dishes.

Whether you desire to dine at a counter, a western-style table, or on tatami mats on the floor with your shoes in the corner, here are the Top Japanese Restaurants in Burlington.

Sakai Japanese

Sakai Japanese

There's a lot to like about this popular sushi spot, from the casual, not-overly-loud environs to the consistently good sushi.

I'm usually not a huge fan of sashimi, but everything I tried at Saki just melted in my mouth, the flavors and textures were perfect.

One of the standout dishes for me was the katsu, a breaded meat cutlet that is one of the most popular dishes in Japan. The chicken was incredibly juicy and the pork was crispy and flavorful. The thick Japanese worcestershire type sauce added an extra layer of flavor to the dish.

The staff at Saki were also incredibly helpful and made our first experience a breeze. They were happy to explain the different dishes and make recommendations based on our preferences.

Ichiban Sushi House

Ichiban Sushi House - Japanese

After reading positive reviews about Ichiban, I knew I had to check it out for myself. And I'm glad I did, because the whole experience was amazing.

The fish was incredibly fresh, the rice was moist and perfectly cooked, and there wasn't a single dish on the menu that disappointed.

As someone who craves Japanese food often, it's great to know that I can always count on Ichiban to deliver high-quality, tasty dishes.

The staff was also incredibly friendly and provided a great service. They even surprised us with a shared plate of fresh fruit at the end of the meal, which was a lovely touch.

I recommend visiting this Ichiban with an empty stomach, as you'll want to try everything they have to offer.

Bento Box

Bento Box

The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff was friendly and attentive. But most importantly, the food was incredible. The sushi and the chicken ramen were fresh and full of flavor, and the noodles in the ramen were perfectly cooked. The egg in the dish was a standout component.

If you enjoy sushi and ramen, give Bento Box a try. The owners and staff are kind and hospitable, and the food is top-notch.

Hoseki Sushi

Hoseki Sushi

Hoseki is a great addition to the Burlington Japanese Scene, located in the heart of the Appleby Village Plaza.

The staff was excellent, attentive, and knowledgeable, and the chef was outstanding. The food was absolutely amazing, and I can honestly say it's one of the best sushi restaurant.

The atmosphere was authentic and welcoming, with beautiful wall art and stunning artistic dinnerware. It's the perfect place for a romantic dinner getaway in your neighborhood. My favorite dish was the mantis shrimp nigiri. The fish was incredibly fresh and you could really taste the quality.

I can't wait to come back and try the chef's special. I'm wishing this restaurant lots of success in the future.

Crisp Here

Crisp Here

We visited Crisp Here, a small restaurant located near the Burlington Mall on Fairview. It was a little hard to find because the signage was not very visible from the street.

However, the service was excellent - the staff were very attentive and professional, and everything was served promptly.

We really enjoyed the appetizers - the miso soup was delicious, the seaweed salad was crispy and fresh, and the edamame was great.

We also tried the tempura shrimp, which were not at all greasy and came with a flavorful sauce. For our main courses, we had the Rainbow roll, the Crispy Crunch roll, and the Salmon Poke bowl.

The fish was phenomenal and very fresh, and the portion sizes were medium to large. The rice was also good and not dry at all.

Overall, we had a great experience at this restaurant and would definitely come back or recommend it to others.
