Rob's Wicked Chicken & Wedges
Rob's Wicked Chicken is a down-to-earth counter-serve operation that serves up some of the best fried chicken sandwiches, wraps, and other poultry-based provisions.
The atmosphere is casual and unpretentious, but the food is top-notch.
I have to say, the chicken here is great, truly great. The owner Rob and his staff know how to make some truly delicious fried chicken, and I'm super picky when it comes to chicken.
The chicken is prepared in-house, not processed and it's clear that the care and attention put into it really makes a difference in the taste.
The taters are pretty tasty too, crispy on the outside and still fluffy on the inside. The portions are generous and you won't leave hungry.
Overall, I highly recommend Rob's Wicked Chicken to anyone in the area looking for some great fried chicken.
The quality of the food and the friendly service make it a must-visit spot. I'm already planning my next trip back, keep up the great work Rob and team!
The Early Bird
The Early Bird is a small independent restaurant that focuses on using fresh, local ingredients made to order.
The kitchen is always searching for quality sustainable Canadian products, from produce to protein, and it definitely shows in the taste of the food.
One of the things that sets The Early Bird apart is that all of their proteins are prepared in-house using various methods of curing, smoking, grinding and pressing. They even deliver fresh products daily to avoid using frozen or processed products, which is truly impressive.
I had the chance to try their famous chicken and waffles and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the waffles were perfectly crispy.
It was a beautiful balance of sweet and savory. If you're looking for something on the healthier side, I recommend the chef's salad. It was massive and easily shared amongst a table.
Overall, The Early Bird is a must-visit spot for anyone looking for delicious food made with fresh, local ingredients.
The care and attention put into the food, and the use of sustainable products make it a standout spot in the area. It's great to see small independent restaurants like this one doing so well.
