Vegetarians and vegans used to be relegated to the salad section of the menu or choosing a baked potato or French fries to fill their bellies on a night out.
Not so anymore. With increasing numbers of people identifying as at least part-time non-meat eaters, restaurants have responded by adding interesting and innovative vegetarian and plant-based meals to their repertoire, and fully vegetarian and vegan restaurants are popping up all over London.
Far from the “rabbit food” misnomers of the past, these young upstarts are exploring vegan sushi and ramen, vegetarian tacos and burritos, and a wide range of dishes utilizing plant-based meats that goes way beyond simple burgers.
Here are the best vegan and vegetarian restaurants in London Ontario.

Specializing in small-batch, artisan doughnuts and classic eats like hand-cut fries and cauliflower wings, deli-style sandwiches, and “meaty” buttermilk fried chick’n.
The food is delicious and the portions are perfect. I especially loved their weekly rotating menu, which included a fast-food fusion favorite, The Chinese Takeout Burrito.

Zen'Za Pizzeria is a vegan joint owned and operated by Wayne DeGroot and Jocelyn Morwood DeGroot, which aims to be London Ontario’s most popular destination for vegan, vegetarian, omnivore, and gluten-free thin-crust pizzas.
They are well-known for their gracious service and clean eating approach to inclusive dining for every diet. Zen'Za is not traditional, they are unique.
They blend wheat thin crust and all mostly organic vegan sauces for their pizzas, so you can eat with your vegan sister, carnivore father, lactose-free mom, gluten-free brother, organic-fussy aunt, vegetarian sister, night-shades friends, low-carb uncle, the no-cheese please co-worker, spicy-lover neighbor, and plant-based beginner.
I had the pleasure of trying their Rueben pizza and the Taco pizza, both were fully loaded and delicious, packed with flavor, and bursting with freshness.
The staff is super cheery, high energy, very helpful, and very friendly. I can't wait to go back and try the Hawaiian pizza and some of their vegan apps. If you're looking for a plant-based pizza, this place is fantastic! Don't know why I haven't tried it sooner! Overall, I highly recommend Zen'Za Pizzeria!

Such filtering agents include milk, albumen (from eggs), isinglass (from the swim bladders of fish), and gelatine.
