With grass or gravel, with a fountain or pool, wild, classic or modern... Take note of these decoration ideas and bring them to your garden to make it look like a magazine space.
If we like something about good weather, it is being outdoors. And if it is in a well-furnished garden, designed with style and with a well-thought-out layout, not even bad weather will get us out of our little oasis!
It is time to revive the outdoor areas, to decorate the garden of country houses or to re-equip the backyard of your urban home to make the most of its space. Most of the gardens that we show you here, so that you can find inspiration, are private spaces that have been touched by the hand of an expert or recreated by their owners, often taking advantage of the natural beauty of the environment. You will see gardens with art , featuring sculptures and works by well-known authors, such as Fernando Oriol's Sevillian patio, but also public gardens that will motivate you and outdoor spaces of small hotels, such as Can Bordoy, in Palma, with century-old trees covering a heated pool.
The different styles of gardens
The combination of plants and their distribution is what will undoubtedly determine the style you want to give it . Of course, the outdoor furniture – from designer designer pieces to converted antiques – will also personalize the terrain.
Before designing your garden you should think about what drawing you want to achieve with it. French gardens , for example, host plant elements that are perfectly organized and always play on symmetry or geometry; while English gardens do not follow a rational design but quite the opposite, since they aim to imitate nature itself, merge with it and give a spontaneous air to its design. The latter, more wild, informal and without the appearance of order, include an aura of romanticism, like the Italians, they also incorporate the hand of man through artistic pieces and architecture.
There are also the Mediterranean and southern gardens , where there is no shortage of species from this area, such as olive trees, holm oaks and albero. Clean, shady and aromatic designs where a fountain that refreshes the environment should never be missing. And we cannot forget the Zen gardens , where the principles of naturalness (Shizen), simplicity (Kanso) and austerity (Koko) are emphasized . Created to help meditation in temples, these gardens use living and dead materials (gravel, pebbles...), which combine with a perfect balance.
You choose which one best identifies with yours. Remember that the interior of the house must be projected onto the exterior and that the gardens must be in tune with the spaces that adjoin them, whether it is the living room, the kitchen or the bedrooms. If you have, for example, a romantic living room or a rustic porch that connects to the garden , its style should extend to the outside with aromatic plants, English-style bushes and vintage pieces; But if, on the other hand, you have a very contemporary interior space that looks outward, then you would be better off opting for designer pieces and avant-garde landscaping. In these 92 images you can see in more detail the aesthetic concepts we are talking about.
